About

Linda Patterson holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Organ Performance from the University of Houston, where she was a member of the Honors College. She did additional graduate study at UH in Nonprofit Administration. She received two fellowships from the Belgian Government to study in Mechelen, Belgium, with Organist/Composer Flor Peeters, and later in an International Masterclass and Competition in his memory, competing live on Radio Europe. She completed her doctoral studies (DMA) in Organ Performance, Sacred Music Emphasis, at the University of Texas, where she studied with Drs. Gerre and Judith Hancock.

Linda has served as the Organist/Music Director of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Brenham, Texas, since 1993, leading a comprehensive music program for toddlers through adults including Choir, afterschool programs, a community chorus, and a summer opera program. As Chair of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas Music Commission since 2003, she has organized the yearly Diocesan Music Camps and Diocesan Choral Festivals, as well as a performance for “Texas Day” at the National Cathedral. Patterson has performed, taught, and accompanied for national and regional gatherings, including AGO Boston and Episcopal Church Women Triennial. A Board member of the Association of Anglican Musicians (AAM), she also works as Executive Director of the Round Top-Carmine Education Foundation.

She enjoys varied collaborations with professional and student instrumentalists and vocalists. The mother of three, Linda lives in Round Top, Texas, with her husband Randy and their youngest daughter, Julia.
