The Atlanta AGO Workshops Committee invites applications for presentations at the 2020 AGO National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. Recent scholarly research, hands-on demonstrations, or workshop offerings of diverse, unique, and timely topics are encouraged and welcomed.
In accordance with Atlanta’s “Kaleidoscope” theme, our committee seeks a broad spectrum of proposals representative of relational issues, musical skills, scholarly topics, and cultural awareness, and practical issues. We hope to reflect a wide variety of guild interests, ages, skill levels, denominations, and important, relevant issues affecting musicians in today’s complex and intricate world through our 2020 workshop offerings, panel discussions, and papers.
Most workshops will be held at our convention hotel, and there is an honorarium for presenters.
Interested presenters may submit a 250 -word abstract, summarizing the topic and its relevance, along with a resume. Online links to performances or presentation examples are appreciated. Please specify any audiovisual and/or musical equipment needed, as well as the desired length of the presentation (workshops – 50 minutes, scholarly papers – 25 minutes). Proposals must be received via email in PDF format no later than October 31, 2018.
