About

David N. Bower, PhD, is the full-time Director of Music & Organist at Saint Michael Church in Cranford, New Jersey, serves on the national committee of The American Guild of Organists, The Committee on The New Organist (CONO). He earned a Bachelor of Music from SUNY Fredonia, and a Master of Music degree from Westminster Choir College, both in organ performance.

While an undergraduate, he studied organ in Vienna, Austria. Bower earned the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Music Education from New York University, where he also taught in the Expository Writing program. His dissertation-turned-book is titled Constructivism and Music Education Technology (2009).

Dr. Bower has lectured on music education at numerous conferences and has published many articles on choral music education. He also completed a post-doctoral teaching fellowship at The New School for Music Study, a division of The Francis Clark Center for Keyboard Study, located in Princeton, New Jersey. He has performed organ concerts at many internationally recognized venues.
