When one embarks on a journey, there are things that one expects to learn and things one learns that one does not expect. Some aspects of a journey go well beyond expectations, and sometimes one must adapt and just journey on. "Lessons from Leipzig" is a presentation that will challenge musical expectations and ideas and present aspects of a musical journey that cannot be separated from East German culture while providing moments of humorous humanity along the way. On the surface, the organs themselves provide insight as to registration and playing style, while the musicians who play these instruments on a weekly basis provide cultural and musical contexts for each situation. And, yes, it is possible to get a speeding ticket on the Autobahn!
